How To Revamp Your Jewelry

Posted by | 6 comments

It is often said – If you don’t know your jewelry, know your jeweler! I’ll tell you why in this post.

Don’t you feel horrible when you realize that one of your earrings has just gone missing one day? Maybe it was your mother’s or your grand mother’s, which was handed down to you, and now you feel terrible as you can’t wear them as their remembrance. Such things keep happening to us all the time, but if it means so much to us, there is always a way to make things work! Here’s some poet wisdom for you from your’s truly 😉 –

What happens in life, happens for the best,
One’s capabilities and talents, always put to test.
Without the difficult moments, I wonder what would life be;
Would we really appreciate things if we were always filled with glee?

We do feel terrible when our Jewellery is broken or lost,
We wonder if we make changes, how much would it cost.
Well, all you need to do is make a smart move
Choose a Jeweler who knows quick fixes; and won’t ever dupe 🙂

Thus today I will share with you a story of how one can convert a single earring piece to a beautiful piece of jewelry that can become your favorite piece again! Of course this tip will require the help and consultation of a jeweler, but the results will be definitely pleasing. See the video below to know how I did it.

The beauty of precious jewelry is that It can be redesigned multiples of times using the exact same materials. While making the ring, I could use the dangling floral motif as the center piece of the ring and just add a little but of gold in it. In fact even after this redesign process, the client was still left with 2 more sparkling diamonds to be converted into 2 more rings to be passed on to her daughter, so that all 3 of them now had a memory of their mother/grandmother with them all along. Isn’t that marvelous?

Whether it is a broken or lost piece of jewelry or a piece that you think is old fashioned, there are loads of ways to revamp the look of your jewelry to make it even more personalized and glamorous an most importantly – to suit your style. View the images below too see how I could transform some jewelry pieces for my clients.

I hope you noticed how some of the rubies looked so different after they were placed in their new design. Yes, that happens when heirloom redesign is done the right way. Interested to know more on the topic, read about the right jewelry settings for your stone here.
